A Green Thumb

So M and I decided to try our hand at a family garden this year. Let's just prefic this by saying that his idea of a garden, being a farmer and all, and my idea of a "family" garden were completely different. I envisioned our kids dropping seeds and playing in the dirt, while he obviously invisioned straight rows and precision farming. * Note to self...agree on what a family garden is ahead of time.

Big H was excited to use his heavy machinery to get us started.

Finally opening up the seeds.

What you don't see here is the maticulous way he had us measure the rows with a measuring tape and dig it down how many inches it said to exact perciseness.

Hunter is still hanging in here...he really wants to plant the seeds.

Deep in thought here...probably watching as I was instructed to push each seed into the ground with my finger. I grew up just dopping a seed in an a very haphazard way. It seemd a little silly to me too buddy.

Big H was done with it all.

Finally time for some play...Big H loves his bike and Little H can't go fast enough on the 4-wheeler.

So, lesson learned.

*The Farmer's garden turned out very nice and straight. M has since retired from gardening.
