Do You Believe?

Today when my kiddos were lining up to go home one little boy asked, "Mrs. Larson, do you believe in Santa?" I smilied, because this is a typical 1st grade question. The tricky part is some of the parents do the whole "Santa" thing and other just have told there kids flat out that he is not real. I choose to remain in the gray area with my kids. So I said, "What do you think?". He said, "you probably do...you LOOK like you do." I dared to ask that next question which could have had a disasterous response. "What do you mean I look like I do?" To which I got the best response. "You are always happy and smiling....just like Santa. So, you must believe in him."
